Good research practices are crucially important to improve the quality and reproducibility of empirical research. Relevant topics are covered such as scientific integrity, exploratory vs. confirmatory research, study design, open science, and preregistration. We will discuss the main causes of irreproducible research (low power, p-hacking, HARKing, and publication bias) and provide solutions that can enhance your research projects, with two workshop on the “Open Science Framework” (OSF) and on how to preregister a study. For further information on reproducibility, visit: www.crs.uzh.ch.
At the end of the course, participants will know:
Dr. Eva Furrer, Prof. Dr. Leonhard Held & Dr. Simon Schwab, Center for Reproducible Science (CRS), Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Prevention Institute (EBPI), University of Zurich.
This course is primarily aimed at PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in the empirical sciences.
